Explore Split!

Split is the second largest Croatian city and one of the most visited destinations on the Adriatic coast. Known for its rich history and relaxed Dalmatian mentality, Split is a destination worth visiting. The impeccably preserved Renaissance architecture is one of the main features of the city, and the fresh sea air and colorful Mediterranean culture give Split a special and distinctive charm.

Split Airport is located 20 km from the city, in Kaštel Štafilić. Split is very well connected with the rest of Croatia. The motorway connects the city with the southern and continental part of Croatia, while the Adriatic Highway connects the it with other cities and towns along the coast.

Split is the urban center of Dalmatia and, as such, is full of culture and entertainment, and is a destination that will not disappoint you. During your stay in Split, don’t forget to taste delicious Mediterranean dishes and enjoy seafood specialties.

Adventure Avant-style in Split!

The Split Waterfront is certainly the most important and most popular public place in the city. Today, this promenade is full of charming cafes, bars and restaurants that provide superior service and the perfect setting for drinking coffee in the sun. The waterfront offers a spectacular environment, overlooking the Adriatic and the Old Town of Split.

One of the main symbols of the City of Split is definitely Diocletian’s Palace. Built during the Roman Empire, this complex is located in the heart of the Old Town of Split. A large part of the palace is still well preserved and is undoubtedly a landmark that you must visit when you are in Split. Diocletian’s Palace is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and is one of the best preserved landmarks of Roman architecture in the world.

Inside Diocletian’s Palace is the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which is the oldest Catholic cathedral in the world. If you want to see the most beautiful view of Split, be sure to climb the bell tower of the Cathedral of St. Domnius. Another place that provides you with a fantastic view of the city is the Marjan Hill. Marjan Forest Park is an oasis of greenery and peace that provides visitors with fun, recreation and a break from the hectic city life.

The richness of history and culture give Split a special quality and charm that will delight you when you come for a visit.

Where to park in Split?

Split can be quite challenging when it comes to finding parking – especially in the summer during the tourist season. The Old Town is a pedestrian zone, but public parking lots are located in its immediate vicinity. Parking on the Split waterfront is the closest public parking to the city center, while parking in Vukovarska Street and in Petra Svačića Street is only a few minutes from the city center on foot.

Split’s public car parks are divided into four parking zones, of which the first parking zone is the most expensive and the fourth zone the cheapest. In addition to public parking lots, you can also park your Split rental car in one of Split’s public garages.
