The deposit is an amount temporarily blocked (pre-authorized) on your credit card. It includes the deductible, increased by the cost of one additional rental day, a full fuel tank, and any potential parking fines. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel or with unpaid parking fines, the corresponding charges will be deducted from the pre-authorized amount.
The deposit is automatically released within 30 days from the last day of the rental. The release of funds depends solely on the issuing bank, and Avant Car has no control over the duration of this process. Please note that you will not see a + transaction on your credit card, but your available credit limit will simply return to the same amount as before the pre-authorization.
A deductible for damages is the maximum amount of liability for the vehicle (evenif the damage caused to the vehicle is much higher than this amount), provided that customers adhere to the Avant Car General Terms and Conditions.
The main driver is the holder of the rental agreement and is solely responsible for the vehicle during the rental period. Using a third-party credit card is not allowed. The credit card owner must be listed in the rental agreement as the main driver.
For the deposit, Visa, MasterCard, and Diners credit cards in the main driver’s name are accepted. The credit card must be a physical card. Virtual credit cards can not be used for the deposit. American Express cards are not accepted.
No, cash payment is not accepted.
You can use any debit or credit card for payment. Cards can be physical or virtual. American Express cards are not accepted.
Free cancellation is possible up to 24 hours before the reserved date and time of vehicle pick-up.
The Carefree Package is a product of Avant Car for carefree rental. It covers all types of damage, as long as they are not caused by negligence or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The deductible is 0.00 €, and the deposit is 200.00 € or 300.00 €, depending on the vehicle category.
The Carefree package includes SCDW, WUG, PAI, fast check-out, island fee, ferry fee, 0.00 € deductible, reduced deposit, and Call Assistance.
The Carefree package does not cover damages caused by driver negligence (e.g., burnt clutch or wrong fuel), driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, lost documents or keys, parking tickets or speeding fines, or damage to the interior of the car.
SCDW (Super Collision Damage Waiver) is coverage for car body damage without mechanical parts and theft (the coverage only applies to the vehicle, and not the passengers’ luggage).
WUG (Wheels, Undercarriage and Glass) is additional insurance coverage that buys out the excess for damages done to the wheels, underside and glass of a vehicle.
PAI (Personal Accident Insurance) covers medical expenses and costs in the event of the death of the renter and the passengers due to an accident that occurs during the rental of the vehicle.
With agency insurance, if the vehicle is damaged (regardless of who is at fault), the cost of the damage is charged directly to the customer. Additionally, the deposit blocked on the customer’s credit card can range from 1,400.00 € to 3,800.00 €, depending on the reserved vehicle category.
The Carefree package, on the other hand, covers all types of damage as long as they are not caused by negligence or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The deductible is 0.00 €, and the deposit is 200.00 € or 300.00 €, depending on the vehicle category.
Crossing the border with an Avant Car vehicle is allowed only with our official Cross border fee. This fee is mandatory for traveling abroad and serves as protection for the vehicle during international travel. The Cross border fee equals 85.00 € per rental, including VAT (25%), and allows unlimited travel. Please note that this fee does not include tolls or vignettes.
Travel to Albania, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Cyprus, Estonia, Kosovo, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, Morocco, Tunisia, Türkiye, Russia, Ukraine and United Kingdom is not permitted and is subject to a penalty of 625.00 €.
Yes. In this case, an additional one way fee applies.
Yes. Using the Key box service, you can return the vehicle outside of working hours. The service is free, and the customer is responsible for the vehicle until it is inspected during regular working hours. Key box returns are available at all our locations.
Our fleet is divided into vehicle categories, and each category includes several models that are similar in size. The term ‘or similar’ means you are booking a vehicle category, not a specific model. Therefore, we can not guarantee the exact model, only the category.
